Individual Development Plan (IDP)

During the second semester of the program, teacher candidates will complete an IDP, Individual Development Plan. The CTC requirement is as follows:

Before exiting the preliminary program, teacher candidates, mentor teachers, and program supervisors collaborate on an individual development plan (IDP)Opens in new window consisting of recommendations for professional development and growth in the candidate’s clear program. The plan is archived by the preliminary program and provided to the candidate for transmission to the clear/induction program. Be sure to keep track of this document!

  • Follow the guidance of your Subject Area Coordinator to complete the IDP during the second semester of the program. Use the IDP template. *Note: Any TC who passes TPA using the Secondary Pass Rate Option must focus on the TPE(s) they addressed with the Secondary Pass Rate Option in their IDP. 
  • Submit the completed IDP to the IDP Dropbox by May 10th (if completing program during Spring Semester) or Dec 10th (if completing program during Fall Semester) .
  • Keep a copy of your IDP to use as part of your future Induction Program.

*Important Note for those who used the Secondary Pass Rate Option to successfulLY complete their TPA REQUIREMENT:

A t the bottom of the IDP form, indicate if you have used the Secondary Pass Rate Option as follows:

Indicate if you passed either cycle of TPA using the ​​Secondary Pass Rate Option by checking the appropriate box(es):  TPA Cycle 1, Secondary Pass Rate Option   TPA Cycle 2, Secondary Pass Rate Option 

If the either cycle of TPA was completed using the Secondary Pass Rate Option, check the box to indicate the Teacher Performance Assessment Verification Form has been completed:  The TPA Verification Form has been completed and submitted to the TPA Coordinator, SECTEP Director, and Secondary Education Department Chair.
