About Project Camino

Project Camino is funded through the U.S. Department of Education grant and offered through Cal State Fullerton. Project Camino trains early childhood special education teacher candidates to work with diverse and multilingual children with disabilities and their families. Project Camino offers training an financial assistance for individuals seeking the Preliminary Education Specialist Credential in Early Childhood Special Education.

  • Professional development activities, including local and out-of-state conferences

Federal Requirements 

  • Be either a citizen or national of the United States, or a legal permanent resident of the U.S or any of the U.S territories
  • Adhere to the commitments and obligations set forth by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Complete the Service Obligation Requirement

 

Requirements

Applicants must meet or exceed the criteria listed below:

  • Be newly admitted to the Cal State Fullerton Early Childhood Special Education Credential Program
  • Have completed a baccalaureate degree
  • Have passed the CBEST or completed equivalent undergraduate coursework
  • Have a GPA of 2.89 or higher
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA while in the program
  • Have experience with culturally and linguistically diverse populations
  • Be able to enroll as a full-time student 
  • Attend the program seminars (three per semester)
  • Be committed to just, equitable and inclusive educational practices
