Teaching Performance Assessment

The California State University Fullerton Single Subject Credential Program utilizes the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA) to assess candidate performance and proficiency.

  • CalTPA Cycle 1: Learning About Students and Planning Instruction will be completed during the first semester of the program. The EDSC 460A course will provide explicit support for candidates' work on Cycle 1.
  • ​ CalTPA Cycle 2: Assessment-Driven Instruction will be completed during the second semester of the program. The EDSC 460 course will provide explicit support for candidates' work on Cycle 2.
  • Both CalTPA Cycles must be passed before   they complete the program and are recommended for a credential.
