Combined Credential and Master's Program

The combined program not only gives teacher candidates an opportunity to earn their master's degree and credential at the same time but the candidates will also participate in an elementary school based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) partnership. In alignment with this focus, teacher candidates will utilize an iPad throughout the program. Candidates will be required to use an iPad a as part of this program. If a candidate does not have access to an iPad the program does have iPads available for checkout for the duration of the program.  The combined program is a full-time, 16-month program completed in four semesters, including summer. The program is mostly in-person but will include online and hybrid courses.

Semester One (Fall)

  • Methods courses and seminars.
  • Fieldwork and 5 weeks of student teaching.
  • Coursework takes place on selected days/times, Monday through Friday 8am-4pm and possibly on Saturdays.
  •  Fieldwork must be completed before student teaching begins and takes place on selected days/times, Monday through Friday during  school site hours.

SEMESTER TWO (SPRING):

  • Methods courses and seminars.
  • Master’s courses.
  • Coursework takes place on selected days/times, credential classes during the day and master's classes in the evening.

SEMESTER THREE (SUMMER):

  • Master’s courses.
  • Coursework takes place on selected days/times and will require in-person, online and hybrid meetings.

SEMESTER FOUR (FALL):

  • Methods course and 8 weeks of student teaching.
  • Master’s courses.
  • Coursework takes place on selected days/times, credential classes during the day and master's classes in the evening.
