Bilingual Education Cohort

The Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education offers an opportunity for teacher candidates to enroll in a Bilingual Education Cohort Model. The Bilingual Education Cohort Modeled is supported by faculty who have a specialization in bilingual education, mentor teachers in bilingual education settings, clinical coaches with expertise in bilingual education, and peers who aspire to receive an added authorization. 

• Each course is designed to prepare teacher candidates to acquire the knowledge and skills to teach in both English immersion and bilingual education classroom settings.
• Teacher candidates have the opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills learned in dual immersion student teaching placements. 
• Teacher candidates are supported by a professional team in both fieldwork and student teaching that have knowledge and expertise in bilingual education.
