Bilingual Education Cohort
The Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education offers an opportunity for teacher candidates to enroll in a Bilingual Education Cohort Model. The Bilingual Education Cohort Modeled is supported by faculty who have a specialization in bilingual education, mentor teachers in bilingual education settings, clinical coaches with expertise in bilingual education, and peers who aspire to receive an added authorization.
- Each course is designed to prepare teacher candidates to acquire the knowledge and skills to teach in both English immersion and bilingual education classroom settings.
- Teacher candidates have the opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills learned in dual immersion student teaching placements.
- Teacher candidates are supported by a professional team in both fieldwork and student teaching that have knowledge and expertise in bilingual education.
What is required to participate in the Bilingual Education Cohort?
- Applicants must apply and receive acceptance to the Multiple Subject Credential Program before April 30th, 2024.
- Admitted students must complete a language assessment with the CSU Fullerton Bilingual Education Coordinator by April 30th, 2024.
What is the timeline for completing a Bilingual Authorization?
Fall Start Timeline - for students who will begin their credential program in the fall.
Spring Start Timeline - for students who will begin their credential program in the spring
