Program Structure

COHORT MODEL

The MSIDT Program integrates a cohort model. The program consists of 10 courses over 5 semesters. Students enroll in 2 courses that link together each semester. Students are considered part-time graduate students. As a cohort program, students will start the program with other students, and this means that you start at the beginning of the program and continue with the other students per the scheduled sequence.   Note that this program requires students to enroll in two courses during the summer semester.

Semester 1: IDT 505 and IDT 510

ORIENTATION INFORMATION

In addition to the courses, there are two required on-campus/video conference orientation Saturday meetings with additional fees – the one day   “boot-up orientation”   for the fall semester held prior to the start of the new academic year. You will also participate in a mandatory one day “midpoint symposium”   at the end of 3 semesters.

The   boot-up orientation consists of a variety of workshops and experiences acclimating you to the overall program requirements, faculty and support staff, program technology requirements, library database resources,  course management system, final project and practicum expectations, textbook procedures, Titan Card, and software purchases.  At the   midpoint symposium   you will review progress to date in relationship to your professional goals and learning outcomes, confirm your final project and practicum activities and work more intensively with a program advisor.

These required orientation meetings have been approved by the Chancellor with a specific Executive Order that includes current fees of $345 for the boot-up camp and $228 for the midpoint symposium.  Note that these fees are non-refundable, subject to change, and will be assessed at the same time that you take the first semester courses  IDT 505 and IDT 510.
