BOOT UP ORIENTATION

Once you have been admitted to the program, you participate in a Boot Up Orientation – the 1 day “boot-up” for the new cohort is scheduled prior to the first semester of coursework. We have found that the orientation supports our community of learners and our collaborative efforts.

The “boot-up” consists of a variety of workshops and experiences acclimating you to the overall program requirements, faculty and support staff, program technology requirements, library database resources, academic writing requirements, learning course management system, final project and practicum expectations, textbook information, Titan Card, and software purchases.

The Boot Up Orientation and Midpoint Symposium will be held on the California State University Fullerton campus and a video conference is available. These mandatory meetings have been approved by the Chancellor's Office with a specific Executive Order that includes fees of $345 for the boot-up and $228 for the midpoint symposium. Note that these fees are non-refundable and will be assessed at the same time that you enroll in the first semester courses of          IDT 505 and IDT 510. The fees have remained the same amount since 2002.

MIDPOINT SYMPOSIUM

A Midpoint Symposium is scheduled after three semesters of coursework is completed. All students are required to attend the symposium. At the symposium, you will review progress to date in relationship to your professional goals and learning outcomes, confirm your final research project and practicum activities and work intensively with a program advisor.  The symposium is held on CSU Fullerton's campus and a video conference option is available.
