Welcome Future Teachers!

information for incoming STUDENTS (NEWLY ADMITTED)

Welcome to the Center for Careers in Teaching! We are the student success center for future teachers at CSUF and are here to guide you as you explore your interests and develop your skills to become an educator. Review the information below to learn more about our services, how to connect with us and get the latest information on Orientation and Registration for your first semester at CSUF.

  1. Watch the Center for Careers in Teaching Welcome Video

  2. Complete the Future Teachers Interest Form

  3. Follow us on Instagram: @csuf_cct  | @csuf_tft  | @mce_csuf

  4. At this time we are not taking appointments with incoming students until all Orientation steps have been completed.

All incoming students must complete ALL parts of Orientation.  The first THREE items below can be found on the CSUF Orientation website (and provided below).  The FOURTH item  is an additional orientation just for Future Teachers.

  • Complete University Orientation: Check your CSUF email for details.

    1. Register for University Orientation session (in-person or virtual). Registration will be live in May.

  • University General Education - Watch the GE modules to learn more about the GE coursework requirements for degree completion.  There are GE requirements to be met for transfer and First Time Freshman.

  • College and Major specific Advising and Course Registration

    1. IMPORTANT: Registration opens in June/July for incoming Fall 2023 students.  Be sure to check your Student Page for your assigned registration date and time. If you attend Orientation in-person you will most likely register for your classes during Orientation.

    2. What classes should you take? All students MUST complete course advising/orientation with your major department in order to learn what courses you should take. We (the Center for Careers in Teaching) are not your major department.

      • On the University Orientation website, click on the college in which your major resides (Step 3) to obtain Major Advising information. If you do not know which college your major is in, visit this website: http://www.fullerton.edu/academics/#colleges
      • Also, check your CSUF email as your major department may have already emailed information about your major advising/orientation.
  • Attend Future Teacher Orientation with The Center for Careers in Teaching - THAT'S US! Check back for more details soon .
