Welcome to the Department of Secondary Education. We offer programs for those who wish to pursue a career in teaching middle and high school (single subject credential), and those who wish to pursue a graduate degree in secondary education.
Our Single Subject Credential Program melds theory with practice in a field-based approach to teacher education. The year-long program prepares teachers to teach in K-12 departmentalized settings in the following subjects: English, social science, science, mathematics, foundational mathematics, art, music, physical education and world languages (including English language development).
