Master's Program Exit Options
There are several project options available to meet the final graduation requirement for the master's program.
PROJECT OPTIONS
Students in the Master of Science in Transformative Teaching in Secondary Education complete a capstone project that relates to their professional goals. Project options include curriculum development, action research, writing an article for publication, or applying for
National Board Certification
. Students work closely with a faculty advisor throughout the capstone experience, and many use their capstone projects as a springboard for professional advancement.
The following are examples of the types of articles written by students in CSUF’s Master of Science in Secondary Education:
- Cummings, R. D. (2019).
Justice then and now: Engaging students in critical thinking about justice and history
. The Social Studies, 110(6), 281-292.
- Perez, R. (2020).
The four levels of implementing mathematical rap in your classroom
. Ohio Journal of School Mathematics.
- Stowe, R. (2017). Culturally responsive teaching in an Oglala Lakota Classroom
. The Social Studies, 108(6), 242-248.
