PurposeCenter Logo

C-REAL is a data-driven, solution-focused research center where PK-18 educational institutions in the Orange and Los Angeles Counties will partner with the College of Education to identify and respond to local problems and issues in schools.

Initial Topics/Direction for the Work of the Center

  • Establish itself within the College and community
  • Identify and solicit funding from community partners
  • Identify the long and short-term educational research problems
  • Establishing the Center research agenda

Research Agenda Possibilities

  • Examination of the impact of shifting demographics (i.e., due to fluctuations in the housing market) on school enrollment changes
  • Student achievement
  • Teacher quality
  • Mid-level managers
  • Program evaluation
  • School climate
  • Web site that will assist community partners in accessing current educational research

Longer-range Plans/Long-Term Goals

  • Hub for educational research for the state
  • House visiting scholars

  • Contribute to the educational program of the doctorate in educational leadership
