California State University Fullerton’s Master of Science in Transformative Teaching in Secondary Education is designed for middle and high school teachers who share our commitment to just, equitable and inclusive education, and are ready to take their career to a new level.

This fully-online, 21-month program is dynamic and highly interactive, featuring small class sizes, synchronous and asynchronous learning, and opportunities to build curriculum for and conduct research in your own classroom.

In this MS in Transformative Teaching (MSTT) students:

  • Examine local and national issues of equity and justice in K-12 curriculum, pedagogy, and policy;
  • Evaluate and design culturally and linguistically sustaining curriculum for their subject area;
  • Conduct research in their classroom, school, district and community;
  • Learn with and from local practitioners and internationally renowned scholars of education;
  • Develop the professional expertise and agency necessary to be transformative leaders in their classroom, school, and discipline.

The MSTT is designed to help you advance your career, and all students receive mentorship as they prepare to present at a professional conferences, write an article for publication, or apply for National Board Certification (California teachers with National Board certification are eligible for up to $25,000 in state incentives; see more information about incentives in other states).
