Giving to REG

The Deborah Osen Hancock Fund was established on the retirement of Dr. Hancock from the CSU system. Dr. Hancock taught in and served as Chair of the Reading Department for over fifteen years. She left CSUF to become Dean of Education at CSU Bakersfield, the first woman to hold that position in the CSU system.  Dr. Hancock also spent many years in Sacramento providing her expertise to educators and policy makers. She later returned to CSUF and taught in the Secondary Education Department until her retirement. Dr. Hancock’s significant contributions to the field of literacy and her outstanding leadership in the CSUF Reading Department and beyond, prompted REG to establish this fund in her honor.

REG is the administrator of the Fund. It is used to support activities of the CSUF Reading Center. Scholarships for both graduate students and children in the Reading Center are provided through the Hancock Fund.

Contributions to the Hancock Fund can be sent to:
Reading Educators Guild, CP570, CSUF, PO Box 6868, Fullerton, CA 92834.
