Urban Learning Admissions

First-time freshmen and transfer students are encouraged to declare the Urban Learning major when applying to California State University, Fullerton and to attend New Student Orientation. Declaring early helps our department connect with you sooner and provide timely guidance, resources, and academic advising throughout your journey in the program.

The Urban Learning major offers students multiple pathways to begin and progress through the program.

Ways to Get Started

  • First-Time Freshmen
First-time freshmen are students currently in high school or who have recently graduated and have not taken college courses after the summer following graduation. Students who took college classes during high school are still considered freshman applicants.
  • Upper-Division Transfer Students
Upper-division transfer students are students transferring to the Urban Learning program with at least 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units).
  • Want to Change Your Major?
Newly admitted students must wait until the first day of the semester to request a major change and attend their original major orientation. Current CSUF students should connect with their current department and meet with an Urban Learning advisor for support with the transition. To officially change your major, you may access the form on the CSUF Office of the Registrar’s Website.
