There are several financial aid resources to help make earning your credential or degree in education more affordable.  The list below is a set of resources for educators.  Feel free to contact the Office of Financial Aid for additional opportunities.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) to CSUF by priority filing date is the single most important step you can take each year towards gaining financial aid.

We encourage you to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) for the 2026-2027 academic year. Need help filling out your CADAA or FAFSA? The Titan Hub and Office of Financial Aid staff will be providing one-on-one support

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

If you are a current CSUF student or alum. The College of Education Scholarship Application is now available through the CSUF Student Portal for students who plan to start or continue a College of Education program during Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027.

Login into your CSUF Student Portal, Select Scholarships, then Scholarship Search, filter by College of Education, and click Apply Now.

CAN PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS APPLY FOR CSUF SCHOLARSHIPS?

Yes. Apply as Prospective Student

Scholarship Application Deadline: March 1, 2026

Important to know: Scholarship awards are not funded until admission is confirmed, and you are enrolled in courses.

LOAN FORGIVENESS AND CANCELLATION PROGRAMS

Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program

Direct Loans and Federal Stafford Loan Forgiveness Programs for teachers may forgive $5000-$17500 in student loans for teachers in certain specialties.  Teachers must complete 5 consecutive full-time teaching years in low-income schools and meet other requirements.

Federal Perkins Loan

Federal Perkins Loans may cancel up to 100% of your loan if you serve full-time in a public or nonprofit elementary or secondary school system that qualifies as a “high-need” institution.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance of your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

Temporary  Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (TEPSLF)

If your PSLF application was denied because some or all of your payments were not made on a qualifying repayment plan for PSLF, you may be able to receive loan forgiveness under this temporary opportunity.
