The College of Education at Cal State Fullerton offers more than a degree or credential. In today’s changing education system, we prepare students to become future leaders. Our programs combine research, theory, and real-world experience through hands-on learning and collaboration. The college has a strong reputation for excellence. As a state-accredited institution in Orange County, we offer challenging programs designed to meet the needs of today’s schools and communities.

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

The Bachelor of Arts in Urban Learning is an interdisciplinary program providing an undergraduate course of study that focuses on preparing students to become educators who are committed to providing a just, equitable, and inclusive education in schools.

TEACHING CREDENTIALS

ADVANCED DEGREES

In addition to the lifelong reward and satisfaction of earning an advanced degree, a Masters or Doctorate prepares you for a full spectrum of teaching and leadership positions. Our College offers a variety of degrees:

Elementary & Bilingual Education

Our Multiple Subject Credential Program prepares students for a teaching career at the TK-8 grade level. We offer a Multiple Subject Credential, a Multiple Subject Credential with Bilingual Authorization, and a Combined Credential/Masters Program. 

Multiple Subject Credential Program

Secondary Education

Our Single Subject Credential prepares students for a teaching career at the 6th-12th grade level. Specific single-subject areas of study include: Art, English, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, Theatre, World Languages, and Social Studies. 

Single Subject Credential Program

Special Education

Education Specialist Credentials prepare students for a teaching career working in the areas of Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, and Early Childhood Special Education. Students may obtain a credential after completing a bachelor's degree and can choose to add on an additional Education Specialist credential if they wish.

Reading Education Specialist Credential

The Reading & Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential prepares students for a teaching career working with classroom teachers to monitor student progress, direct literacy interventions, plan literacy instruction programs and develop and coordinate reading programs at the school, district, or county level.

Teacher Induction Program

Clear Administrative Services Credential & Preliminary Administrative Services Credential

The Clear Administrative Services Credential (CASC) is specifically designed for recently hired school administrators. The department offers the CASC credential program embedded in the Ed.D. P-12 program.

The Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC) is for TK-12 setting teaching professionals who possess a California teaching or services credential.  This credential can be taken alone or embedded in the M.S. Educational Administration program.

Doctoral Programs

Preparing for leadership requires academic training in a professional, culturally diverse environment that integrates the application of theory to practice. The doctoral program in Educational Leadership delivers learning opportunities through two unique program specializations: P-12 Leadership and Community College Leadership. The P-12 program is immersed in and interfaces with P-12 students and faculty. The Community College program specifically focuses on and interfaces with community college students and faculty. The inquiry-based, problem-solving curriculum for both programs is designed to help education professionals learn by fully integrating their experiences in discussion, research, and fieldwork.

Highlights:

  • Nine term, 60-unit program including the dissertation
  • A cohort structure delivers collaborative graduate study designed to expand individual leadership responsiveness
  • Dedicated support for each student includes personal advising, writing and statistics coaching, research guidance, dissertation editing, learning support, and conference funding
  • Professional mentorship delivers academic and career advice and guidance to stimulate your personal and professional growth
