CSUF Induction Candidates Initially Prepared Outside of California or Prior to SB2042*
If you were initially trained outside of California or prior to SB2042, be advised that CSUF Teacher Induction Programs meet ONLY the following renewal requirement: "The holder must satisfy the professional level requirement by completing a Commission-approved Induction Program." To identify additional requirements needed to meet your credential renewal requirements, go to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and log in to view your credential document. This document lists ALL requirements for renewing and clearing your credential. For assistance in determining how to meet any additional renewal requirements, contact the CSUF Credential Preparation Center.
*Most California Multiple/Single Subject Credentials issued in years prior to 2004 were under the Ryan Act. Most Multiple/Single Subject Credentials issued since the year 2004 were under SB2042 and include English Learner (CLAD) authorization. Because universities had to be approved by the CTC to deliver the new SB2042 credential program, there is some variance in dates. Credential type is indicated on candidates' credential documents, which may be accessed from the CTC.
As of June 2018, all CSUF Induction Programs and the Credential Preparation Center will follow the procedures below in regards to applicants and candidates who were initially trained outside of California or prior to SB2042.
- Such credential applicants may be admitted to our Teacher Induction Program if their CTC credential document includes the requirement for completion of a Commission-approved Induction Program. All other admission requirements of the program must be met as well.
- Such applicants will be notified at the time of admission that they may need to complete additional requirements in addition to completing the Induction program to be able to apply for a credential.
- The above statement will be included in Admissions acceptance materials, as well as on the program website and the Credential Preparation Center website.
- Induction Program advisors will send any inquiries regarding other credential requiremenfor OOS applicants/candidates to the Credential Preparation Center so the same information is received across all programs.
