Graduate Programs

Our graduate programs are designed to develop educators' expertise in literacy education through coursework, leadership and fieldwork experiences required to obtain the Master's degree, Reading and Literacy Added Authorization and Literacy and Reading Leadership Specialist Credential. 

The Department of Literacy & Reading Education offers the following graduate programs.

100% Online Graduate Program

Our bichronous (a combination of synchronous and asynchronous classes), structured 16-week semester format provides a flexible schedule to pursue your graduate degree. All courses include weekly online engagement with cohort peers, a dedicated faculty member with weekly office hours, and several opportunities to meet synchronously during the semester.

Undergraduate Program

The Department also offers a Minor in Literacy for Social Change.

This interdisicplinary minor provides students with knowledge of literacy development, literacy research, practice in critical thinking, and exposure to multiculltural literature relevant to understanding the experiences of diverse groups in society.
