A Note From Our 2012-13 Grant Recipient: Imelda Loya:

“Thank you very much for the generous REG grant of $300 to purchase books for our classroom library. This is the first year I have begun implementing the Daily Five program in my classroom. It is a highly independent program that motivates students to increase their reading stamina. They are engaged in their work and are empowered to choose from the different Daily Five components. These new sets of books have provided my students with more reading opportunities. One of my more reluctant readers finished one of the biographies in 3 days! Once again, thank you for supporting our literacy program, especially with high-quality Spanish materials. Spanish books are harder to come by, so this grant definitely gave us a boost in our Spanish reading material.”
