This prestigious award is named for Professor
Emeritus Edwin Carr who was appointed Professor of Education and Economics in
1960. He came to Orange County State College, the predecessor of CSUF, from the
University of Colorado, Boulder. In his active career, he exemplified the
purposes of the Edwin Carr Fellowship through his scholarship and service to his
department, school and university. He was an honored member of his profession
having served as the President of the National Council for Social Studies. This
fellowship honors its recipients for their achievement and promise to the
profession
Robin Barry
Robin Barry currently teaches in a comprehensive reading intervention program
as a resource teacher in the Anaheim City School District. She brings a deep
love of reading to her students and is committed to providing opportunities for her
students to be successful in Language Arts.
Robin received her multiple subject credential from CSUF in 1999 and her
undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies from CSU, Northridge. In her nine
years of teaching, she has been a first grade teacher, a BTSA support provider,
and on special assignment for teacher technology development. Robin was an
Anaheim City School District Teacher of the Year and an Orange County
Teacher of the Year semifinalist
in 2005.
Robin has both attended and provided staff development at the school and
district levels, and has given presentations at state level symposia. Her greatest
contributions are mentoring a child under emotional stress, coordinating Cal
State Fullerton graduate students at Edison Elementary School, and building a
highly effective reading intervention program.
Robin is married and has three wonderful daughters. The Reading Department
faculty congratulates Robin C. Barry.
