Rosario Ordonez-Jasis

Dr. Rosario Ordonez-Jasis is our new specialist in literacy, language and culture. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Chicano Studies from California State University, Fullerton. She received her Masters and Ph.D. in Education from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Ordonez-Jasis' teaching responsibilities include the socio-cultural context of literacy learning and second language acquisition. Her research examines historical and contemporary issues of Latino schooling and the policies and practices that impact parent involvement and family literacy programs. Most recently, Dr. Ordonez-Jasis received awards in recognition of her scholarly contributions from the Spencer Foundation and the Language Minority Research Institute.
