Kathryn Bartle Angus

Kathryn Bartle Angus received her B.S. and Multiple Subject California Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. She completed her M.S. in Education with a specialization in Reading at California State University, Fullerton. She worked extensively in community reading clinics and with the probation department's education outreach program as part of her graduate studies. Kathryn teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate programs and serves as coordinator for the undergraduate program and graduate cohorts and off-campus programs. Her undergraduate teaching interests include critical thinking and academic reading and writing. She has presented on these topics frequently at the College Reading and Learning Association and the California Reading Association conferences. Her publications in these areas can be found in the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy and the Journal of the College Reading and Learning Association. Kathryn serves as chair of several committees for CRLA and was the recent recipient of the Karen G. Smith Outstanding Service Award. As a long-term member of the Reading Educators Guild (the alumni association for the Reading Program), she serves on the board and as faculty liaison.
