Donna Padgett

Donna Padgett received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from California State University, Fullerton. Her bachelor's degree was in art and her master's degree in education with an emphasis in reading. Ms. Padgett has a California Ryan Single Subject Credential in Art, K-12 and a Reading Language Arts Credential. Her primary teaching responsibility centers on undergraduate reading courses. Ms. Padgett's major area of research interest is in children's picture books and she wrote her master's project combining both her interests in art and literature. The project was titled A Handbook for Parents: Choosing Aesthetically Rich Literature for Children, Infancy Through Second Grade. She has presented in-services, workshops, and seminars for teachers and students in Los Angeles and Orange Counties as well as presenting at College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) National Conferences and the Claremont Reading Conference. Ms. Padgett received the Outstanding Reading Graduate Student Award in 1993 and Reading Educators Guild Volunteer of the Year, 2000 awarded by California State University, Fullerton.
