Added Authorizations

 

Our Added Authorizations provide specific advanced preparation through completion of our approved set of courses based on Teacher Commission-approved standards. Our authorization programs allow teachers to supplement knowledge and skills gained in our preliminary teacher preparation programs.

 

Special education Added Authorizations

Our Added Authorization in Special Education (AASE) programs are a subset of the full preliminary teacher preparation program and are designed to allow Special Education teachers to supplement the knowledge and skills gained in their preliminary teacher education program.


Our Added Authorizations in Special Education (AASE) include:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Early Childhoos Special Education
  • Resource Specialist

 

READING and Literacy Added Authorization (RLAA)

Students who complete our Reading and Literacy Added Authorization (RLAA) offered through our Department of Literacy and Reading Education, will be prepared and authorized  to assess student reading and provide reading instruction. RLAA holders are also authorized to develop, implement, and adapt the reading curriculum and assist classroom teachers in these areas.
