There are many graduate programs for current science and mathematics teachers at Cal State Fullerton. Programs vary as to the amount of education verses science or math courses required, culminating experience options, and alignment with professional development standards of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, National Science Teachers Association, and National Council on the Teaching of Mathematics. MA in Teaching Science

Program features:  

  • Program provides advanced course work in science and science education appropriate to the professional responsibilities of science educators; to provide research and seminar opportunities in contemporary issues in science education.·
  • Program enables teachers to become more proficient in science disciplines appropriate to their academic teaching assignments.
  • A secondary track and an elementary track are available.

MA in Mathematics – Emphasis in Teaching

MS Education, Concentration in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction – Emphasis in Math and Science

Program features:

  • Designed in response to the urgent nationwide call for excellence in mathematics and science teaching at all levels, including pre-K through grade 8.
  • Emphasis enriches and deepens teachers’ understanding of mathematics and science curriculum and pedagogy, provides the opportunity to promote problem solving specifically through the use of technology, and prepares teachers for leadership roles in their schools and districts in math and science.

MS Education, Concentration Secondary Education – Emphasis in Teaching Foundational Mathematics
