Program Structure

PROGRAM five SEMESTER STRUCTURE

This is a cohort program consisting of 10 courses over 5 semesters. You will be taking 2 courses that link together each semester. As a cohort program, you will start the program with other students, and this means that you start at the beginning of the program and continue with the other students per the scheduled sequence.  You cannot start at any point along the course sequence/cycle.  If you do stop at some point for any reason and then want to continue your participation in the program, you will need to take the classes only when they are offered again in the cohort cycle. Note that this program requires students to enroll in two courses during the summer semester.

ORIENTATION INFORMATION

In addition to the courses, there are two mandatory on-campus/video conference orientation Saturday meetings with additional fees – the one day “boot-up orientation” for the fall semester held prior to the start of the new academic year. You will also participate in a mandatory one day “midpoint symposium” at the end of 3 semesters.

The boot-up orientation consists of a variety of workshops and experiences acclimating you to the overall program requirements, faculty and support staff, program technology requirements, library database resources,  course management system, final project and practicum expectations, textbook procedures, Titan Card, and software purchases.  At the midpoint symposium you will review progress to date in relationship to your professional goals and learning outcomes, confirm your final project and practicum activities and work more intensively with a program advisor.

These mandatory orientation meetings have been approved by the Chancellor with a specific Executive Order that includes current fees of $345 for the boot-up camp and $228 for the midpoint symposium.  Note that these fees are non-refundable, subject to change, and will be assessed at the same time that you take the first semester courses  IDT 505 and IDT 510.
