Shariq Ahmed, Ed.D.

Dr. Shariq Ahmed is a Lecturer for the department of Instructional Design and Technology. Dr. Ahmed has over ten years of experience working for several departments at California State University. He formerly worked for the Faculty Development Center and was responsible for the technical training and support of CSU Fullerton faculty. Prior to that, Dr. Ahmed worked as an IT Consultant for the College of Health and Human Development and College of Education, where his primary responsibility was to support faculty, staff, and students with their technical and computing needs.

Research Interests:

Online Learning, Educational Technology, Post-Secondary Education, Faculty Training and Development

Research Agenda:

Dr. Ahmed conducted his doctoral research on the use of technology tools in online education. His research focused on studying the perception of faculty and graduate students, engaged in online education, in regard to their usage of educational technology tools such as Blackboard, Chat, Audio and Video Conferencing, Wikis, Blogs, and Podcasting. He is actively involved in exploration, testing, and deployment of emerging technologies for the CSU Fullerton community.
