MASTERS ONLY PROGRAMS: We are accepting applications for the Concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. MULTIPLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL or COMBINED MASTERS/MULTIPLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAMS: We will continue to accept completed applications for fall 2017 until the program is full.  Have you attended the mandatory in-person credential program overview?

 

Three semester blocks require evening classes (taught from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and/or from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.). Some blocks may also hold Saturday classes.

Three-Semester Overview

Semester 1: 15 weeks of coursework and 45 hours of fieldwork

Semester 2: 10 weeks of coursework, 45 hours of fieldwork, and 5 weeks of student teaching

Semester 3: 7 weeks of coursework and 8 weeks of student teaching.  This semester requires a full-time commitment.

  • EDEL 430 Foundations in Elementary School Teaching
  • EDEL 433 Language Arts and Reading Instruction in the Public Schools
  • EDEL 434 Methods and Inquiry for Teaching English Learners
  • EDEL 435 Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary School Teaching – Math
  • EDEL 438 Supervised Fieldwork in Elementary Schools
  • EDEL 453 (a): Teaching  Performance Assessment Support:  Subject-Specific Pedagogy & Designing Instruction

Coursework: Second Semester

  • EDEL 429 Integrated Curriculum and Instruction in the Elementary Schools
  • EDEL 436 Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary School Teaching – Science
  • EDEL 438 Supervised Fieldwork in Elementary Schools
  • EDEL 439 Student Teaching
  • EDEL 450 Visual & Performing Arts Seminar
  • EDEL452 PE, Health and Mainstreaming Seminar

Coursework: Third Semester

This semester requires a full-time commitment.
