MULTIPLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL or COMBINED MASTERS/MULTIPLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAMS:  Have you attended the mandatory in-person credential program overview?

The combined program not only gives teacher candidates an opportunity to earn their master’s degree and credential at the same time but candidates will also participate in an elementary school based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) partnership. In alignment with this focus, teacher candidates will utilize an iPad throughout the program. Candidates will be required to purchase an iPad and use ebooks as part of this program. The combined program is a full-time, 16-month program completed in four semesters, including summer. The first semester provides an opportunity for the candidate to gain essential knowledge about the nature of children, elementary school instructional materials, and effective teaching strategies presented in the university classroom and connected to the supervised fieldwork and student teaching experience. The second and third semesters build upon earlier competency development for teaching and the opportunity to learn research methods and theory development required for the Master’s program. The fourth semester offers intensive practical experiences in student teaching and focuses on the completion of the Master’s project. The program will include online courses.
