Ding-Jo Currie – Professor (Ph.D. in International/ Intercultural Education from USC, M.S. in Counseling from Wright State University, and a B.S. in Mathematics and Psychology from Manchester College)
Background: Dr. Ding-Jo H. Currie’s career includes 30-plus years in the California Community College system. Ding-Jo has recently retired from Coast Community College District where she served as Chancellor from 2009-2011 and President of Coastline Community College from 2002-2009. She is committed to continuing her service and contribution toward higher education while wearing a different hat.
Before joining Coastline and the Coast District, Ding-Jo held the position of Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Economic and Community Development at Rio Hondo College in Whittier.
Ding-Jo is well known for her passion and expertise in quality education, distance learning, leadership development, international education, economic development, entrepreneurial endeavors, and the list goes on. She is active locally and nationally on various boards and has won numerous awards for her outstanding accomplishments such as Women Helping Women Awards, Who’s Who in International Executives, SBA District Director’s Awards, Outstanding Chinese American Scholars, etc. She is known as a visionary leader and a unity builder.
