High School

If you want to be a high school teacher, it means you are interested in teaching children ages 13-19. You will likely teach grades 9-12th. You will need to have a bachelor’s degree and a Single Subject Credential. With a Single Subject Credential, you will only have to teach one subject in high school.

CSUF has majors that align with high school teaching requirements, depending on the subject you want to teach. There are also recommended GE courses that will prepare you for the credential admission requirements.

Please come in for advising to learn more and to develop a study plan.

If you are close to completing your bachelor’s degree or already have a bachelor’s degree and want to learn more about the Single Subject Credential program please visit the Secondary Education website.
