Future Teachers is a pre-service teacher enhancement program provided by the Departments of Secondary Education, Elementary and Bilingual Education, Special Education, and Science Education.
NOTE: For Fall 2009, due to CSU budget cuts, the Future Teachers program has been suspended. We hope to restart the program once funding is available.
The program provides CSU-eligible high school juniors and seniors in partner high schools with a one-semester, three-unit college-credit course (EDSC/EDEL/SPED/SCED 110: The Teaching Experience ), which includes a weekly seminar, tutoring experience, special day on the university campus, and career and academic advising. Future Teachers Advisors are high school teachers (one at each school site) who teach the course in their classroom.
While enrolled in the course, students have access to the university library, health services, and other facilities. Fees are covered by Cal State Fullerton.
The Future Teachers Program is supported by the Anaheim Ducks, Project Tomorrow, the Teacher Recruitment Project (TRP), and the Math and Science Teachers (MAST) Project.
