Full-time faculty members in the Department of Secondary Education are recognized locally and nationally for their contributions to curriculum and instruction and have authored numerous articles and well-known texts. They have published in over 40 journals and have presented their scholarship at local, state, national, and international levels. They have received numerous grants for the professional development for in-service and pre-service teachers, technology education, K-12 curriculum development, and the continuum of teacher development and support. Faculty members volunteer many hours in local public schools and provide numerous in-service training's for teachers at local schools and county offices. They serve on editorial boards, numerous committees, and boards and are members of a variety of professional organizations. They serve as guest reviewers and program evaluators, and have taken leadership roles in professional organizations.
Part-time instructors and university supervisors are also employed in local school districts as teachers, curriculum specialists, and administrators. Their expertise in supporting and engaging adolescents and successful secondary classroom teaching enriches our credential and graduate programs.
