About Us

Department of Secondary Education is one of the premier institutions in Southern California to prepare current and future educators to teach in middle and high school classrooms. The department houses the Single Subject Credential Program (SSCP) for those seeking preliminary teaching licensure, and the Master of Science in Transformative Teaching in Secondary Education (MSTT) for those seeking to further develop their skills and dispositions in the field of education. Our faculty have extensive experience teaching in diverse K-12 schools across the nation and have earned doctoral degrees in such fields as curriculum and development, adolescent education, social justice in education, and educational leadership.
