TakeOne!
The Professional Teaching Development Center at CSU Fullerton can support cohorts of teachers who would like to participate in TakeOne!, a new program from the National Board in which teachers complete 1 reflective portfolio entry that examines their practice through the lens of the National Board Standards. Take One! is available in all 25 certificate areas the National Board offers. TakeOne! is a great way to promote and enhance professional learning communities (PLCs) at a school site.
TakeOne! can also serve as a teacher’s first step toward completing a full National Board Candidate portfolio. When a TakeOne! entry is submitted to the National Board, it is evaluated through the same process as National Board candidate portfolio entries. The score received for a TakeOne! entry is valid for two (2) years. If a TakeOne! participant scores well and chooses to pursue full National Board Certification in the same certificate area within that two-year period, s/he would only need to complete the 3 remaining portfolio entries and the assessment center exercises.

In order to provide on-site support for TakeOne! participants, the PTDC at CSU Fullerton requires there to be at least 10 participants in a cohort.
