

The Educational Leadership Department provides credential and degree programs that support the growth of leaders for Pre K-12 schools, community colleges, and higher education. Our mission is to prepare leaders who demonstrate strategic, instructional, organizational, political, and community leadership.
Graduates of the department's programs serve in leadership positions across this region. The department meets the needs of working professionals by developing high quality programs respected for their relevance to schools, districts, and colleges.

The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate
A national effort aimed at strengthening the education doctorate, Ed.D.
Since 2007, it has engaged university which have committed resources to work together to undertake a critical examination of the doctorate in education. The intent of the project is to redesign the Ed.D. and to make it a stronger and more relevant degree for the advanced preparation of school practitioners and clinical faculty, academic leaders and professional staff for the nation’s schools and colleges and the learning organizations that support them.
