Welcome to the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education

The Department of Elementary & Bilingual Education offers two types of programs: the Multiple Subject Credential Program (MSCP) for people who wish to become accredited K-8 teachers, and Masters Degree Programs for educators who wish to further their studies.

The Multiple Subject Credential Program

Our nationally accredited Multiple Subject Credential Program (MSCP) aims to prepare teachers to be leaders in the classroom and change agents within the field of education. We offer multiple programs to meet the needs of our varied student populations including 2 semester daytime programs and 3 semester late afternoon programs. Intern options are available also, as well as opportunities for a BCLAD Credential or BCLAD Certificate.  Your first Step is to attend an overview.  Please visit our website http://ed.fullerton.edu/adtep/ to view the current overview schedule as well as review program details and requirements. For information about a Teacher Recruitment Project aimed at assisting Multiple Subject candidates and holders in obtaining an additional credential in mathematics or science, please view http://ed.fullerton.edu/TRP/Index.html.

The Masters Degree Programs

The MS in Education programs are designed to help career classroom teachers upgrade their skills, become informed about new ideas in elementary teaching, and prepare for leadership roles within schools, school districts and other organizations.

The Department of Elementary Education faculty are recognized locally and nationally for their contributions to a variety of education disciplines. The faculty includes authors of numerous well-known texts. They are committed to providing course work that is grounded in current professional practice and that is connected to a strong theoretical and empirical research base.
