Dr. Michelle Vander Veldt
Michelle Vander Veldt is an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education. She joined
the California State University, Fullerton faculty in 2006 after
completing her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas. During the past five years, Dr. Vander Veldt
has worked as a visiting instructor at UNLV and has taught various
education courses. Her dissertation research focused on the
relationship between teachers’ beliefs in mathematics and their
instructional practice. Currently, she is involved in a National
Science Foundation (NSF) grant conducting research done in
collaboration with the Clark County School District involving
professional development in mathematic and science education. Dr.
Vander Veldt is a member of the American Educational Research
Association (AERA), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
(NCTM), the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE), and the Research
Council for Mathematics Learning (RCML).
