Dr. Mildred R. Donoghue
Dr. Mildred R. Donoghue is a Professor of Education and Reading
in the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education. She teaches
graduate courses in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction (emphasis: Early Childhood Education) and also teaches in the Multiple Subject Credential program. She is a member of the Alpha Upsilon Alpha Honor Society of the International Reading Association. Dr. Donoghue received her Ed.D degree from
UCLA and her J.D. degree from Western State University, College of
Law. She has published ten books in the field of literacy/literature, the latest (published in 2009 by Sage) titled Language Arts: Integrating Skills in the Classroom. She serves on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Children's Literature (National Council of Teachers of English) and The Dragon Lode (International Reading Association). Recently she established the Donoghue Children's Literature Center at the Pollak Library at California State University, Fullerton. The Center houses more than 1000 recommended and recently published children's books..
