Student Leadership
College of Education-Student Advisory Board
- The COE Student Advisory Board serves at the invitation of the Dean. A full board includes representation from all credentials programs, masters and the Ed. D program. Informal invitations are extended by the Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean and student leaders throughout the academic year.
- The Assistant Dean schedules meetings for September, November, February and April.
- Members express ideas, opinions and concerns related to the College of Education.
- The Assistant Dean (7-278-4161, CP-500) serves as the advisor.
College of Education-Inter-Club Council
- ASI, Inc. funds the College of Education Inter-Club Council.
- The COE ICC leaders (Chair, Vice-Chair and Director of Administration) emerge from student members of the Student California Teachers Association (SCTA), Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) and/or from students enrolled in the college and/or a future teacher program.
- COE ICC meets 1-2 times per month; the chair schedules the meetings. The ICC agenda is posted in CP-500 72 hours in advance of each meeting.
- COE ICC funds COE, SCEC or SCTA students for conference attendance, speakers and newsletters.
- The Assistant Dean serves as the advisor.

Student California Teachers Association
- Student California Teachers Association (SCTA) consists of college students pursuing careers as educators.

- SCTA members often serve as members of the COE Student Advisory Board, ICC leadership and as COE Student Ambassadors.
- The 2007/08 faculty advisor is: Dr. Jennifer Ponder
- The 2007-08 President is Tamara Harris
College of Education/Academic Organization-Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC)
- The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.

- SCEC members often serve on the COE Student Advisory Board, ICC leadership and as COE Student Ambassadors.

College of Education-Student Ambassadors
- Leaders in the College of Education formed a team of Student Ambassadors in the Fall of 2007.
- Student Ambassadors include: COE Student Assistants, STEP students and COE majors
- The Student Ambassador Mission is to: serve the College of Education
- The Student Ambassador Passion is: “our passion is to be knowledgeable and competent as we represent the COE while striving for student success and community involvement”.
