COE Hosts Russian Educators Institute
A welcoming ceremony was held for the 15 Russian college administrators who came to Cal State Fullerton to learn about higher education in the U.S. The Oct. 19 ceremony was attended by Melody Johnston, associate dean of University Extended Education, from left; Tatyana Tsyrlina-Spady, vice president of the Regional Open Social Institute in Russia; Vladimir Petrov, president of the Regional Open Social Institute; Ed Trotter, associate vice president for undergraduate programs; Karen Ivers, acting associate dean of the College of Education; and Dawn Person, professor of educational leadership.

The Higher Education faculty in the College of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership are hosting a fourteen-day institute focusing on higher education in the United States and educational leadership practices, challenges and issues for the ROSI-Regional Open Social Institute Russian Delegation.
Two weeks of four-day professional development sessions featuring lectures from higher educational experts representative of the diversity of institutions that comprise US higher education will be featured. Representatives from two and four-year public and private, research and liberal arts institutions, as well as educational agencies involved in higher education will share their expertise and perspective on college systems and leadership. Sessions will be held at CSU Fullerton and local colleges and universities. Fifteen participants from higher educational institutions throughout Russia are in attendance.
