CPR INFORMATION Commission on Teacher Credentialing – CPR requirements became effective as of 9/1/92 CSUF currently accepts the following to fulfill the CPR requirement:
As of July 1, 2008, CSUF will no longer accept online CPR certification. CTC also recognizes organizations and providers with equivalent (ARC, AHA) CPR training other than those listed above. Applicants may submit CPR training from an organization that provides equivalent Heartsaver training in infant, child and adult CPR. Please Note: The Commission on Teacher Credentialing requires a copy both front and back of the current or expired* CPR card. Please make sure you have signed the CPR card in the appropriate place. *An applicant who completed acceptable CPR training while enrolled in a teacher education program may submit an expired CPR card. An applicant who completed acceptable CPR training while NOT enrolled in a teacher education program but was employed as a teacher at the time may submit an expired CPR card. However, the applicant must also submit a letter from their administrator on official letterhead stating dates of employment during the time a valid CPR card was held. CPR procedures for an individual with a physical disability For an instructor to pass on individual who is unable to perform all coursework required in a CPR class due to a physical disability, the person could demonstrate competency by verbally walking another person through the necessary procedures so the other person can perform CPR. If the instructor feels the individual with the physical disability is competent in the verbal walk-through and successfully completes all necessary requirements of the course, the individual with the physical disability can receive CPR certification.
