California State University at Fullerton is proud to coordinate the Orange County National Board Certified Teachers Network. The OC NBCT Network provides contact information and resources for NBCTs in the local region. NBCTs in the network receive updates from NBPTS on Candidate Support Provider training, Advocacy training and other leadership opportunities. National Board candidates can use our Network database to locate local NBCTs who are trained Candidate Support Providers.
OC NBCT Network Mission Statement
Our mission is to build on the foundation of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and its five Core Propositions. Our vision reaches beyond the classroom as we create a community of professional educators, provide service to the teaching profession through candidate outreach and support, and contribute to the knowledge and implementation of teaching practices that positively impact learning outcomes for all students. In partnership with California State University, Fullerton we strive to be a symbol of professionalism and accomplished teaching in the region.

Candidate Support Provider and Cognitive Coaching Training May 30th and 31st, 2009
The Professional Teaching Development Center in San Diego is offering Candidate Support Training for those NBCTs who have not yet trained and Cognitive Coaching for Collaborative Teacher Leadership for experienced Candidate Support Providers who want to enhance their skills. The training will occur in Torrey Pines, CA on May 30th and 31st. Space is limited! Download a flier with contact information and further details.
Julius Corsini Elementary School Releases Follow-up Report on Take One
Corsini Elementary in Desert Hot Springs underwent a school-wide, Take-One experience in the 2007-2008 school year. They recently released the follow-up report on the results. The data are AMAZING on many levels; API, teacher retention, community perception and Back to School Night attendance all increased. Check out this report! NBPTS Support through the CSUF PTDC ’09-’10 cycle -- Want to start a NBCT support cohort in your district? We can pay trained candidate support providers to provide candidate support. We can provide the curriculum. Contact Tara Barnhart for details.

CDE announces 365 new NBCTs in California!
NBPTS Support at State Level in Jeopardy -- Federal Fee Subsidy still in California budget, but $20,000 incentive suspended for future NBCTS. Those who certified by January 2008 may still apply.
